RYSE House Rules

RYSE is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

  • RESPECT. Give respect to get respect. Respect personal space. Treat others how you want to be treated. Respect feelings. Respect lifestyles. Respect the Staff. Respect the space,. Don’t litter outside, clean up after your selves, no stealing or tagging, respect the equipment. This isn’t just our stuff, it’s yours too.
  • NO CUPCAKING. No PDA. No inappropriate touching.
  • NO FOOD/DRINK PAST THE FRONT DESK. Except in the kitchen and staff rooms.
  • NO GAMBLING, inside or outside the space.
  • NO SMOKING, DRINKING, OR DOING DRUGS in or outside the space. We need your mind clear.
  • NO WEAPONS. NO GUNS. NO SHANKS. NO FISTS OR KICKS, when used in a harmful manner. The only fist we want are up the in the air, the only kicks we want are to stomp down oppression.
  • THIS IS A SAFE & NEUTRAL SPACE. No colors, no turfs, no drama.
  • NO HATING. Spill your haterade somewhere else. No hateful language or any language that is used hatefully. No slurs. We are trying to smash oppression, help us take that step forward.

DO's

  • Take care of your self and others
  • Be willing to try things out, don’t be scared.
  • Be in control of your life.
  • Have fun.
  • Be yourself.
  • Be responsible.
  • Be open minded to new people and experiences.
  • Be a leader

Consequences

Remember, this is your space. Respect it. Respect what’s in it. Respect who’s in it – including yourself. If you can’t, here’s what could go down:

  1. A verbal reminder of the house rules
  2. One on one meeting with the RYSE Team or staff
  3. Mediation with RYSE Team or staff and plan to work out the situation
  4. Temporary suspension from programming or Center (we want you back so will work with you on a plan)
  5. You go directly to a group or talk to someone
  6. Bring the whole center together to work it out.
  7. Indefinite suspension (this is really serious – we never want to get here because this could mean the authorities have to get involved )

Depending on what happens, there could be other consequences not listed. Let’s not waste time having to figure them out.
